Lost in Time

The Future must laugh,
At the fancies of the present.
The Past must smile,
At the follies of its schemes.
I lost a dream at the doorstep of time,
And now I tread softly,
Gently, with care.
Perhaps the winds of time,
Has laid it on my path.

One of my favourite words in English language is 'Perhaps'. It contains the reality of hopelessness and the fantasy of hope. It helps us on...

I note gentleness in you that was not there in the earlier days. Good. Great!

@ Anil sir ,

Thank you , that sentence of yours made my day!

@ Americanising Desi

Yes , keep building , i will. In all its meanings. i just qualified as an architect..so building , with words or with bricks , is just what i do!

@ Aman

Thank you!

@ Mr B

Indeed , one just cannot talk about life with surety. There's always Perhaps.

and thank you!

*bows* Thank You!

@ Bondgal

Wow...thanks!

@ Ani

I think you misunderstand Ani. I don't mean you shouldn't work for it. I just mean , sometimes life just presents situations in which you have to let go of some dreams of yours..and just sometimes , later in life , the situations turn just right for you to act on them , which is what i mean by
"perhaps the winds of time has laid it on my path.

Of course , there are no free lunches.

However , sometimes how much ever you plan , it feels like some things are meant to be. It feels like there is something called fate. It feels like your life is written by some author up above.

In spite of being a staunch rationalist..sometimes , one cant help feeling that way...

what do u think?

Reading your words felt like reading my own thoughts. You've written just what I feel. I couldn't put it into words but you've done it so beautifully - you have infused life and soul into the words. Thank you so much.I never fail to get inspired by your writing.
