So that I don’t forget…
1. Sometimes life seems unfair – that’s only because life does not come fitted with binoculars. If only you could see ahead, you would realize how every single thing happens for a reason. I know it belies your rigid rationality, but accept it – perhaps the universe does have a plan for you.
2. So most people think you’re weird – its time you stopped taking their statements like little arrows into your heart that you need to painfully pull out. They probably forget you the next minute.
3. Stop judging with such brutality. The world is not filled with clones of you. People are different –accept them for what they are, for almost everyone has something worth admiring. Everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details.
4. Do not compare. Everyone is on a journey of their own and not on a race with each other.
5. Be flexible. Others are allowed to have an opinion – there is really no glory in arguing for your part till you’re exhausted. If you truly have reasoned out your beliefs – you will never find a compulsive need to make everybody accept it.
6. So you have problems, your job sucks, you’re lonely and you’re ready to drown in a sea of self pity. But think about the ones that have it worse – the tiny child that offered to carry your luggage at the railway station – does your suffering come even close?
7. It’s ok to be confused – it only means that you’re thinking.
8. If you do not know –ask. Half-baked knowledge is the most dangerous thing ever. Even if it means letting someone into your weakness, ask. A bruised ego is better than a screwed up task.
9. Don’t let anyone make you feel insufficient. Nobody is ever good at everything.
1 0 And finally – realize your own insignificance. In the limitless universe, you are but a speck of dust , Let every star in the sky remind you that you're stardust.

Why truth has to be plain, unkind and sometimes brutal? These are the pointers I constantly need to remind myself of.
Totally agree with every word. Our problems hardly compare to what a large part of the world has to go through. When we truly realize that, when we truly embrace that thought, we ll take our first strides in learning to be content with life.

A wonderful post that came across at the right time when I needed an explanation to so many problems clouding my mind.
Thank you for sharing these :)
Point nr 1- I do not know if life comes with a telescope or binocular (metaphorical) though. Why must the Universe have a plan for us? Are we indispensable for the Universe to exist?
Pont-nr 2- Words when they are spoken behind ones back can be painful when it is known. Forget drawing the arrows out. When they are there perhaps it can help us to be careful next time around.
Point- nr-3- Eternally different from the other, no similar siblings! A person who revels in sodomy as a habit may have a pretty side Will you forget the graver one for his little bright side if he ever has?
There lurks a devil in every seeming angel. Well this will be disputed for sure.
Point nr 4- Yes you are right
Pont nr -5- Reasoning out beliefs? Can beliefs be ever reasoned? They say it defies logic?
Pont- 6 – Certainly but then problems and its intensity are relative. Aren’t they?
Point- nr 7- Confusion is a part of being brave and daring to think to leave the maze, don’t you think so?
*Point-8- For many ignorance is bliss.
Pont- nr 9- Are you referring to greed?
Point- 10- This is what is missing in many. They feel they are greater than the sum, the universe and forget they are mere speck of dust in the schemes of Nature.
1. Disagree. Universe have no plan for you. Nothing happens for a reason; after the incident we track down reasons. We assume that Universe has a plan, that every thing happens for a reason because we are afraid to accept the utter meaningless of life - once we accept the meaninglessness, every moment of life gives you the joy of discovery.
2. Agree. But leave the arrows, scratching at the wounds can be a pleasurable activity.
3. Agree. I think we had discussed this issue some time ago. Accept others and you will accept yourself.
4. Agree. But really one cannot help it fully. We are too human. And hey, once in a while, race! Lots of fun in racing, though, once-in-a-while...
5. Agree. But never BELIEVE in anything, not even yourself. Always leave a little room to wonder, to question, to ponder and then shrug, walk away.
6. Agree. Easy to say, but getting pricked in your bottom can be hurting. Thinking about those who have it worse, alleviate the pain.
7. Disagree. when you are confused, you are not thinking, you are just reacting. Pause deliberately, take a couple of deep breaths and the confusion clears.
8. Agree, 100%.
9. Agree. Even the dog in the street has something to be admired about.
10. Oh, yeah! I have written on these lines many times - perhaps in most of my writings I touch upon this.
Finally, Cheer up, R! You are too young to brood on such things. Go out, have fun! You will regret otherwise when you are old! :-)
Wow, it's been a while :) Good to read your blog after such a long time and the nature of the post surprised me a little but hey! Good on you, girl :)
Amen !
Life is an exercise in meaninglessness .There ..don't look for the meaning of life anymore , just get out there and rock it !
@ Ajay
Was any of these too brutal ?
@ Amith
Yea...to be content is extremely difficult. Nobody is ever content - not the poorest soul nor the richest man..
@ The Dialogue
I am glad this helped you..
@ Anil Sir ,
About point 9 - Sometimes people tend to make you feel insufficient pointing out the exact things that you don't have . In those times , if we just realize that not everybody is perfect and learn to focus on what we do posses - derogatory comments of other people wont affect us so much!
@ Mr B
Thanks for the long comment - and none of these were sad , were they?
They were all matter of fact!
@ Swati
Long time!! Should call you.
@Manoranjini
Amen to that!
You know what I keep coming back to read this post !
its a sanity check in this insane world !
